GATE 2019 – Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will conduct GATE 2019 in online mode tentatively during the first week and second week of February for 23 papers. GATE 2019 is a national level post graduate entrance examination for admission to M.E./M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes at IITs, IISc, NITs, GFTIs and other Universities in India. GATE is an examination conducted jointly by the IISc, Bangalore and seven IITs on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE.

Candidates will be able to select only one GATE paper for examination. The score card will be valid for a period of 3 years from the date of announcement of GATE result for M.Tech admissions. Various PSUs also offer recruitment based on the GATE performance of the candidates. The official notification for GATE 2019 will be released tentatively in the first week of July 2018. The application form of GATE 2019 will be available tentatively from the last week of August 2018. GATE 2019 will be conducted across different cities in India and six cities abroad. Scores and ranks present in the GATE 2019 result will be based on the performance of the candidates in the examination. Since there will be no common counselling conducted, candidates will be able to apply for IITs through GATE COAP and for NITs through CCMT.

GATE 2019 Exam Date

IIT will announce GATE 2019 exam date in July. Organizing Institute will first either launch an official website with dates or release an advertisement. Either way, conducting body will intimate dates to the general public through a public announcement.

In the month of July 2018, we say that because last year dates were announced on July 4, IIT will announce exam dates as well as all important dates of GATE 2019. Expected dates are given below. These are on basis of usual GATE schedule.

GATE 2019 Organizing Institute
Every year one of the seven IITs or IISc conducts GATE exam. Name of IIT or IISc which will organize GATE 2019 is expected to be announced in the month of July. However, intelligent deductions can be made from past year patterns.

 

Syllabus of GATE usually does not change year on year. Therefore, you can refer to the available syllabus. Later if there is any change in syllabus, it will be informed.

GATE 2019 syllabus is made available for each of the 23 papers. It covers all the topics from which questions will be asked in the exam. To grab more marks in exam, it is a good idea to cover all topics. As exam day gets closer, one should revise all topics from their notes.

Along with studying theory of a topic, it is important to practice questions also.

GATE 2019 Exam Pattern
GATE is a computer-based test. Some questions are MCQs (multiple choice questions) and some questions are NAT (numerical answer type).

The exam pattern of GATE 2019 is expected to remain same as last year’s. It is important to get acquainted with the paper pattern so as to do well in the exam.

How to score so high to be in top 100 in GATE 2019?

Here are some tips that will help you do well in the exam.

Study 3-4 chapters on weekdays. Then revise them on weekends.
After studying theory, practice multiple choice questions and numerical questions.
Also, after studying theory, solve questions asked on that topic in previous year GATE exams.
Make a study plan which is easy in first two months, then keep increasing its difficulty level.
Whenever you lack motivation, remind yourself of your goals.
Write your ultimate goal on a chart paper and stick it in your room.
